Replace Old Bathroom Floors with Tile

Want to jazz your bathroom? Instead of purchasing new additions to the space, it might be best if you change your linoleum floor with tiles. Bathroom tile floors are not just essential to the space but it instantly adds beauty as well. Additionally, tiling your bathroom doesn’t require any professional service. Actually, you don’t have to remove your old linoleum floor before tiling your bathroom. The linoleum might be brittle and could release asbestos from underneath. It is best to just seal your old floor with cement backer board and place the tiles over it.

You might need to take a few inches of your door as well, so don’t forget to take some measurements. Your toilet bowl needs to be removed to completely tile the area. Just put it back once the tiling is done.

To begin your bathroom floor transformation, come some thinset on top of the linoleum and place the cement backer board over it. It is advised to screw down the board for extra security. Once that’s done, apply more thinset over the board and begin placing done your tiles. Use spacers to ensure proper alignment and spacing but don’t forget to pull them out before grouting.

Once you’ve finished grouting the tiles, you may want to wipe the excess and haze with a damp sponge or a cheese cloth.
